With summer coming to an end, we all know that means a new school year is rapidly approaching. I myself won't be returning to the classroom until January for the spring semester, but the majority of college campuses are already busy welcoming incoming freshmen. While your education should be your main focus, we all know that the beginning of a new school year also means reuniting with friends you haven't seen all summer and more importantly, new clothes! Every since elementary school, I can remember planning my first day of school outfit weeks in advance. In my younger years that usually consisted of some sort of skirt and shirt combination with crisp white tennis shoes. By the time I reached high school I traded in my tennis shoes for wedges and four inch heels. I'm sure many of you are thinking heels are a bit much for high school, but I wore mine faithfully; most people didn't even realize that I just barely make it past five feet I wore them so much. I myself didn't even realize how short I was until one day I wore flats and was referred to as "the little short girl", but I digress. This look, with the exception of the blouse, is comprised of some of my most prized thrift store finds which made it very affordable. A nice pleated skirt always makes me feel collegiate and I think that floral top compliments it well. The booties have a short heel but they are still very comfortable which makes them perfect for walking around campus in between classes. If your returning to school I pray that you have a blessed and productive year!

Hart Attack

Fashion Facts:: Dress: Thrifted :: Shoes: Nine West :: Purse: Steve Madden

Hey everyone! I've been excited for months about Kevin Hart's Let Me Explain being released in theaters. I had my entire look planned for opening night but, my plans were canceled at the last minute, so my sisters and I decided on seeing it the following weekend. The day finally arrived to see the movie and it was extremely hot so, my original look was completely out of the question. I looked through my closet and spotted this dress that I found while I was out thrifting with my mom sometime last year. I'd never worn it, and after I tried it on I loved it. It was light and comfortable, which made it perfect for the nearly 100 degree weather. I had a great time with my sisters and the movie was hilarious. Have you seen it yet? What did you guys think?

While we all know the popular cliche "You shouldn't judge a book by its cover" its something that we're all guilty of doing. Fashion is typically regarded by the masses as superficial, and in the grand scheme of things it is, but your appearance and the things you wear play a fundamental role in how people perceive you. What you decide to wear speaks volumes to the way you feel about yourself and the people around you.  If you know me personally you know that from the very first time I laid eyes on Dior's New Look I've had an insatiable love of fashion. I'm a firm believer in using your clothes to convey emotion; never dress for the occasion, dress for the aesthetic of life. To be "Styled in Grace" has a dual meaning. The first is the more transparent of the two and that is to be styled or fashioned in a graceful manner. I adore the feminine fashions of the 1940's and 50's and believe that just because women have adopted a more prominent role in today's society it doesn't mean that we can't still be graceful and lady-like. The second meaning, is to be styled or covered by the grace of God. I would be nothing if it wasn't for God imparting His graciousness upon me and because of that I strive to honor Him in every aspect of my life, fashion included. With all that being said (or should I say typed) I just wanted to create a blog to share my love of fashion and the way it relates to my love for God with the world, or at least the people who took the time to read this :). Welcome and enjoy!
